Our Mission
Sawyer's Warriors is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to parents and siblings who have experienced the devastating loss of a child. Recognizing the profound impact of such a loss, Sawyer's Warriors offers a range of services to help families navigate the complex emotions and challenges that arise during this difficult time. We offer practical assistance, such as organizing memorial events, connecting families with legal and financial resources, and providing guidance on coping mechanisms and self-care practices. We aim to help parents and siblings find some sort of peace and comfort well after the funeral is over. We understand that grief of a child is a lifelong journey, and we are commited to being there for parents and siblings long after others may have walked away.
Our History
Sawyer's Warriors was established in 2021 in memory of Sawyer Grace Perkins, forever 10. Sawyer was diagnosed with anaplastic ependymoma, a rare brain tumor on April 23, 2016, at the age of 5. She went through 6 brain surgeries, 2 spinal surgeries, 63 radiation treatments, 4 rounds of chemo and 3 separate clinical trials over the span of those years. Sawyer was a feisty, sassy, charismatic little girl, who wanted nothing more than to beat cancer and live. Although, she had cancer, she lived life to the fullest and was always wanting to give back. She wanted to be a famous youtuber and wanted to design clothes for kids like herself. To carry on her legacy, Sawyer's Warriors helps families who have been through the unthinkable... the death of a child due to childhood cancer.
Beauty Beyond the Beast
We offer a variety of programs and services to meet the needs of our community, including emergency financial assistance, funeral assistance, and Beauty Beyond the Beast boxes that include various items (themes vary) to help bereaved families due to childhood cancer find some comfort and peace after such a traumatic experience.
